Melissa Bailey Moberly

An integral part of the Shoregals’ 1986 state championship team, Moberly’s name stands out on a long list of talented Cross Country runners. Moberly was a four-year letter winner in cross country and track & field. During those years she earned a variety of honors, including four first team All-Southwestern Conference awards, All-Ohio honors and four straight state championship appearances. She placed sixth at states her senior season and helped the Shoregals to their first of two state championships.

Moberly lettered in track and field four times. She earned three first-team All-SWC awards in the 3,200 meters, three more in the 3,200 relay and two in the individual 1,600 her junior and senior years and helped the 3,200 relay team place eighth at states in 1984 and earn state runner-up honors in 1985.

Moberly went on to be a four-year letter winner at Ohio University in cross country and a three-year letter winner in track and field.
