Kevin Clayton

Kevin Clayton was an all-around athlete at Avon Lake High School, participating in football, basketball and track. He was an All-Conference player in basketball and held the high jump record at Avon Lake High School for some time. However, he will probably be remembered most as an outstanding linebacker and a member of the Avon Lake Shoreman football program. Kevin was a First Team All-Conference selection and a member of the Plain Dealer All-Scholastic (Dream Team), and received an athletic grant to Bowling Green State University where he played for four years. At Bowling Green, Kevin started his sophomore, junior and senior years as linebacker. At 6’2”, 215 lbs., he was one of the smaller defensive stalwarts in the league. He was however, nominated as Mid-American Conference player of the week three times his senior year and upon graduation was invited to try out for the NFL’s Houston Oilers.

Kevin bypassed the opportunity to play professional ball in order to continue his education, earning his M.B.A./C.P.A. at North Texas State University. He moved to Marietta, Georgia and began with Ernst & Whitney, a firm he left eight years ago to begin his corporation. Kevin and his wife Karen have three children - Pat, 5; Adam, 6; and Kenneth, 8.
