Avon Lake basketball standout Frank Bolognia (Class of 1992) will be inducted in the Avon Lake Sports Hall of Fame at the Fountain Bleau May 18. Bolognia, a 6-foot-5-inch post player, was a dominating player in Lorain County. Awarded the Shoremen MVP award, Bolognia averaged 21.1 points and 11.7 rebounds per game.

Bolognia was named to the All-Ohio second team in Division II. He was also named the All-District, Southwestern Conference and Lorain County Player of the Year. Bolognia also shared the Lorain County Mr. Basketball award with Columbia's Todd Simon. Bolognia was also Avon Lake's first basketball player to compete in the North-South all-star game.
