Andrew Means (Class of 2005)

As an athlete at Avon Lake High School, Andrew excelled in both football and baseball. In 2004, he achieved All-SWC, County, District and All-State first team recognition for football. Andrew was equally proficient in baseball and was the SWC MVP as well. Highly recruited by many universities, Andrew chose the University of Indiana to continue his academic and athletic endeavors. A three year letterman for the Hoosiers, Andrew was selected as an All-Big Ten outfielder. Following these accomplishments, Andrew joined the Cincinnati Reds and pursued a career in baseball. He later returned to Avon Lake and is currently the Shoremen varsity baseball coach. His insight and guidance were rewarded in 2021 when he was named SWC and Lorain County Coach of the Year.
