Avon Lake Sports Hall of Fame Announces the Class of 2026

    The Avon Lake Sports Hall of Fame is proud to announce its Class of 2026, honoring five exceptional student-athletes whose achievements have brought pride to Avon Lake and whose accomplishments have continued well beyond graduation.

    Please join us in congratulating this year's inductees:

    Dr. Andrea Nicholson McCabe ('08) – A standout softball pitcher, Andrea earned Southwestern Conference MVP and All-Ohio honors before continuing her career on a full scholarship at Grand Valley State University. She graduated from medical school in 2016 and is now an emergency medicine physician with University Hospitals Elyria Medical Center.

    Morgan Srail Gougler ('11)– One of Avon Lake's most accomplished divers, Morgan was a four-time All-American and two-time All-Ohio selection while also earning recognition in soccer and track. After competing at Ohio University, she coached throughout Northeast Ohio, founded the Northeast Ohio Diving Academy, and now serves as Business Coordinator for Athletics Advancement at Kent State University.

    Dr. Mike Haddad ('08)– A dominant football player, Mike earned Southwestern Conference MVP and All-Ohio honors before continuing his career at Michigan State University. He later earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from The Ohio State University and is now a partner at Avon Lake Animal Clinic.

    Nick Hamilton ('08)– A standout baseball player, Nick was named Southwestern Conference MVP, Lorain County MVP, and All-Ohio before playing at Kent State University. Drafted by the Cleveland Indians, he played professionally in the organization's minor league system before transitioning into scouting. He currently serves as an Area Scout for the Kansas City Royals.

    Christian Pace ('10)– An outstanding offensive lineman, Christian earned Lorain County MVP, All-District, All-County, and All-Ohio honors before beginning his collegiate football career at the University of Michigan. He transitioned into coaching and has held positions at University of Michigan, University of Florida, Lafayette College, the University of Connecticut, and currently serves as Associate Head Coach, Run Game Coordinator, and Offensive Line Coach at Colorado State University.

    The 2026 Avon Lake Sports Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will take place on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at Parker's – The Parker Room, 32858 Walker Road, Avon Lake

    The event is open to the public, and we encourage family, friends, teammates, coaches, and community members to join us for this special evening of celebration. A reservation form is available here


The Avon Lake Sports Hall of Fame’s purpose is to give lasting recognition to the outstanding sports figures and/or teams of Avon Lake who have demonstrated outstanding athletic ability at the high school, college, amateur or professional sports levels.

We strive to recognize those individuals who have contributed greatly to the promotion of sports through leadership, sponsoring, coaching or providing assistance to athletes of athletic programs.

It is our utmost desire to promote more interest in the athletic programs of Avon Lake.
