Tom Diffenbaugh

Tom Diffenbaugh, a 1956 graduate of Avon Lake High School, won 13 varsity letters. Diffenbaugh earned 4 letters in basketball and was twice named to the All-County Basketball Team. He held numerous records during his tenure and still ranks on many of the “all time” lists, including third for individual high game (42); third for season scoring (389 points) and third in career scoring (902 points). Tom also earned three letters in track as one of the county’s best 440 yard dash runners, and three in baseball as a first baseman on two of Avon Lake’s better teams in the fifties.

After graduation he attended Kent State University. An avid bowler, Tom still can be found at the alleys, where he recently rolled a 695 series with a 268 single game high. He also has coached American League Baseball and served eight years as a Little League coach.
