Ted Chester

Ted Chester was another four-sport athlete and a 1965 graduate of Avon Lake High School. He concluded his athletic career as an end on the Kent State University football team, where he started for two years. While at Avon Lake he earned eleven letters, three in football, basketball and track, and two in baseball. Ted was an All-Conference performer in basketball and football, held a ten-year school record in the shot and discuss in track, and played on a baseball team that was 18-2 and 20-0. He was probably the only athlete to start in four sports as a sophomore in modern Avon Lake sports history.

Ted and his wife, Judy, have three children - Meagan, Nathan, and Erin - and live in North Canton. John McCoy will introduce Ted at the banquet. Coach McCoy was Chester’s coach in football and baseball and was a longtime highly successful coach in the Avon Lake system.
