Frank DeSmit

Frank DeSmit earned eight varsity letters during his high school athletic career. On the football field, DeSmit was a two-year starter at quarterback, leading the Shoremen to a 13-3-1 record and first-ever playoff appearance in school history. DeSmit recorded seven school records for passing. He was also voted to the All-Lorain County team and named the Lorain County All-Star football game co- MVP. DeSmit was also named to the All-Southwestern. Conference second team his senior season.

DeSmit racked up three letters as a member of the Shoremen basketball team. As a senior captain, DeSmit was voted the MVP, was named to the All-Lorain County team, a Lorain County "Mr. Basketball" honorable mention and a participant with the Lorain County All-Star game.

A three-year letterman for the Shoremen baseball team, DeSmit was voted the MVP his senior year. That same year he was also the batting champion and winner of the Gold Glove award. DeSmit was named to the All-SWC second team, the All-Lorain County team and the Lorain County All-Star game.
