Dave Aslaksen

Dave Aslaksen is an Avon Lake native who is recognized for his faithful service and numerous contributions to the athletic community of our city. No one man has voluntarily done as much for Avon Lake athletics. He has spent untold hours as a “Senior Shoreman” charter member, holding all offices during his tenure. Using his talent, and many times his own resources, he has built or helped to build many of the “extras” that have made Avon Lake athletics the strong factor they are today. The Press Box, batting cage, football benches, trophy cases, concession stands, and storage sheds, all bear the caring touch of Dave Aslaksen. He still makes the most valuable football player “Hook” awards.

Dave played football under Hall of Famer Karl Dryer from 1949 to 1953. During that time the teams he played on went 24-2-1, and won three Lorain County Championships.
