Carrie Liptak (Class of 1995)

Carrie excelled in both basketball and softball. She was an invaluable component on Avon Lake's only state championship team. But as good as she was in basketball, she exploded in softball for the Shoregal's. As a four year varsity starter at catcher, she was the "Most". Carrie set records for Most Runs Scored, Most Stolen Bases and Most Hits. Perhaps her Most notable achievement, however, was her record .582 batting average set in 1995. All of these records remain today. These "Mosts" turned into "Firsts" - three time First Team SWC, First Team Lorain County, First Team All-District and First Team All Ohio in 1995. Carrie continued her career at the collegiate level culminating at Cleveland State University. She is the only Avon Lake Softball player to compete at the NCAA Division 1 level.
