Chris Heim, a 1972 graduate of Avon Lake High School was an outstanding 3 sport athlete, leading the Shoremen football and baseball teams to Southwestern Conference Championships in the 1971-72 season. In addition to being named all-conference in those sports, he was also named as an all-conference wrestler in his senior year. Chris was named to the Plain Dealer Baseball Dream Team, was recognized as co-captain of the 1971-72 football team and was voted most outstanding athlete of the class of 1972.

Following graduation, Chris continued to play football and baseball with United States Air Force, and as a graduate of Sam Houston University, Houston, Texas.
