Andrew "Andy" Schillinger

Andrew "Andy" Schillinger graduated from Avon Lake in 1983. During his four years at Avon Lake Andy obtained a total of seven varsity letters, 2 in football, 2 in basketball and 3 in track. While at Avon Lake Andy was All-Conference in track three times, All-Conference in football twice and conference Co-MVP in Football his Senior year. Andy was also an All-Ohio choice in both football and track.

After graduating from Avon Lake, Andy went on scholarship to play football at Miami University. He was a four year letterman and a two-time all Mid-American Conference choice. He lead the conference and the nation in touch-down receptions twice during is four years at Miami and in his Senior year was given All American Honors.

In 1988 Andy was drafted into the N.F.L. by the Arizona Cardinals. He played two seasons for the Cards, one with the Minnesota Vikings and finished his professional career, because of injuries, as a member of the Miami Dolphins. Schillinger and his wife Amy live in Avon Lake with their two children Drew and Emily. Andy is now a teacher and coach at Avon Lake High School.
