Al O'Neill, one of Avon Lake High School's finest football coaches with six Southwestern Conference championships to his credit and numerous honors including the state AAA "Coach of the Year" in 1977, is the third inductee. O'Neill's record at ALHS was 77-28-6 for a .646 winning percentage, the second best for active coaches in the state of Ohio. After Avon Lake, Al went on to coach at St. Edward's High School where he put together two 9-1 seasons and two state playoff bids in two years.
