The numbers continue to pile up for current Avon Lake head coach Amy Manco.

The Shoregals head coach will begin her 12th season this winter. Over her first 11 seasons in charge, the Shoregals won a state championship, two regional championships, five district titles, nine sectional championships and eight Southwestern Conference titles. She has 234 career wins.

When she arrived in 1993, she volunteered as the boys Junior Varsity golf coach and helped establish the Avon Lake girls program in 1999. She took over the varsity boys team in 1999. Since then the Shoremen have won three-straight SWC championships. She is also an assistant coach on the Avon Lake softball team. Among her laundry list of honors, Manco is seven-time winner of the Lorain County Coach of the Year award.

Manco is a 1981 graduate of Bay High School, where she was two-year letter winner in girls basketball. She went on to play basketball and softball at Baldwin-Wallace College. She earned four varsity letters in softball and two more in basketball.
